November 2019 – November 2022

The Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) is Ontario’s oldest freeway, dating back to the 1930s. and plays a vital role in the transportation of trade, commuter, and tourist traffic. The maintenance of the QEW is also vital as it links the Canada-United States border crossings at Niagara Falls and Fort Erie with Ontario’s Golden Horseshoe and beyond.

Peninsula Construction is supporting Rankin with their replacement of the QEW Welland River Bridges and their rehabilitation of three structural culverts which started in November of 2019 and is expected to be completed in November 2022.

Among the services Peninsula Construction is delivering on the project includes providing 5 kilometres of M-Type, X-Type and T-Lock temporary construction barriers.

To support this project, Peninsula Construction will also be re-locating 10,000 metres of TCB and installing over 1 kilometre of guard rail.
